A four-way split featuring Northeast Ohio's Night Goat, Trash Mountain, supercorrupter, and Hiram-Maxim.
You don’t need to look to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland to understand how important grimey, loud music is to Northeast Ohio. It’s in our blood, and despite being perpetually overshadowed by cities like New York, Chicago, and LA, a creative current has swelled just below the surface for the past 50+ years. Where else can one find a scene that supports multiple excellent shows happening every night within an hour’s drive? From Cleveland to Akron, Canton to Youngstown, legendary venues host criminally under-rated bands, incubating talent that towers above many larger markets. Places like the Grog Shop in Cleveland Heights, the Beachland in Collinwood, Annabell’s in Akron (RIP), Buzzbin in Canton (now Akron), the old Stone Tavern in Kent (The Zephyr picking up the slack lately), and Westside Bowl in Youngstown (to name but a few) have been ground zero for countless nights of musical transcendence, courtesy of home-grown artists that do it all for the love of rock and roll.
